Mission & Rationale: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as critical mediators of intercellular communication across biological systems. While EV biology in eukaryotic cells has been extensively studied, vesicles associated with microbial systems—including bacterial vesicles and virus-induced extracellular vesicles—remain comparatively underexplored. This focused meeting aims to bring together experts working on bacterial vesicles, virus-associated EVs, and related microbial extracellular vesicle systems to exchange recent advances, discuss shared challenges, and identify future directions in the field.
