Extracellular Vesicles: In Biomedicine Workshop
Valencia (Spain) hosted from the 26th to the 28th of September 2019, the course “Extracellular vesicles : in Biomedicine” co-organized by Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) and the Grupo Español de Investigación e Innovación en Vesículas Extracelulares (GEIVEX). This event gathered more than 70 participants from 10 different nationalities. The course was hosted in Palau de Pineda, the UIMP University headquarter in Valencia and was supported the International Society for Extracellular vesicles (ISEV). The course was certified as “Of outstanding interest” by the Health Department of the Regional Valencian Government.
In this edition, Keynote speakers Prof. Giovanni Camussi (Italy) and Guido Jenster (Netherlands), joined Drs. Maria Yañez-Mó, Francisco Sánchez-Madrid, Isabel Guerrero, Juan Manuel Falcón, Mar Valés, Hector Peinado, Francesc Borrás and Antonio Osuna. During the course biomedical opportunities and challenges of extracellular vesicles were discussed highlighting their relevance for biomarker discovery and for the regenerative processes.
After the course joint picture, the closing ceremony was headed by the director of the Valencia-UIMP university headquarter, Dr. Agustin Domingo, as well as Dr. Antonio Marcilla, director of the course, and Dr. Maria Yañez-Mó, Secretary of the course. They made a summary of the three days and thanked the authorities, sponsors (GEIVEX, ISEV, IESMAT, Immunostep, and Solmeglas) and participants for their support and help.
