ISEV is a non-for-profit community/membership based organization, which organizes the annual ISEV scientific meeting once a year. The ISEV community and its leadership will make all efforts to organize the meeting as scheduled, or approximately as scheduled, on this website. However, the meeting may be significantly changed, or in the worst-case scenario, be cancelled, but only in the case of a force majeure event. In the case of a force majeure event, ISEV shall not be held accountable for the change in scheduling of the event, or worst case scenario a cancellation of event. ISEV may retain paid registration fees, to cover its expenses that may or can be incurred for having planned or booked the event or services related to the event. A “force majeure event" in this case means the occurrence of: (a) an act of war (whether declared or not), hostilities, invasion, act of foreign enemies, terrorism or civil disorder; (b)ionizing radiations, or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel, or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel, radioactive toxic explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosive nuclear assembly or nuclear component thereof; (c) pressure waves from devices travelling at supersonic speeds or damage caused by any aircraft or similar device; (d) a strike or strikes or other industrial action or blockade or embargo or any other form of civil disturbance (whether lawful or not), in each case affecting on a general basis the industry related to the affected services and which is not attributable to any unreasonable action or inaction the part of ISEV or any of its subcontractors or suppliers and the settlement of which is beyond the reasonable control of all such persons; (d) specific incidents of exceptional adverse weather conditions in excess of those required to be designed for in this agreement which are materially worse than those encountered in the relevant places at the relevant time of year; (e) tempest, earthquake volcano eruption or any other natural disaster of overwhelming proportions; pollution of water sources resulting from any plane crashing into; (f) discontinuation of electricity supply, not covered by the agreement concluded with ISEV or its associates; or (g) any other unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of the parties against which it would have been unreasonable for the ISEV to take precautions and which ISEV cannot avoid even by using its best efforts.
Registration of a participant entails acceptance of these conditions. In any disputes that may arise concerning the execution or interpretation of the present general regulations, both parties agree that they will be subject to the laws of the United States of America and that the courts of New Jersey will be competent, without prejudice to ISEV’s right to initiate proceedings under the laws and before the courts of the participant’s registered office in the event any sums are due by the participant to ISEV.
The conference organizer (Talley Management Group) works as an agent on behalf of ISEV. Neither the conference organizer nor ISEV may be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage to any property, whatever the cause may be. Liability of persons and enterprises providing means of transportation or other services, however, remains unaffected.
It is recommended that participants obtain adequate cover for travel, health and accident insurance before they depart from their countries. ISEV and the conference organizer as organizers cannot accept responsibility for personal injuries, or loss of, or damage to, private property belonging to the conference participants and accompanying persons should, for any reason outside the organizers' control (including but not limited to acts of terrorism, extreme weather conditions and/or industrial action) the venue or speakers change, or the conference be cancelled, the organizers will endeavor to re-schedule, but shall not be held responsible for any costs, damages or expenses incurred by registrants. If for any reason the organizers decide to make material changes to this event, they are not responsible for airfares, hotels or other costs incurred by registrants. The participant takes part in the event, all tours and trips at their own risk.
