Traveling to Japan

For entry into Japan, check the travel requirements from your Country of Origin by clicking here!

Domestic Travel:

We recommend flying into Osaka Airport, often referred to as Itami Airport, and then taking the train into Kyoto (see below for information). It is the primary regional airport for the Kansai region of Japan, including the major cities of Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe.

For more information on how to travel between Osaka and Kyoto, please click here.

International Travel:

We recommend flying into Kansai International Airport, and then taking the train into Kyoto (see below for information). The airport is located on an artificial island in the middle of Osaka Bay off the Honshu shore.

Kansai International Airport offers a shuttle to and from Kyoto with Free WiFi. Please click here for more information!
