ISEVxTech is back and better than ever!

When?

November 21-23, 2024

Where?

Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor

To book your hotel room, please visit the ISEVxTech reservation site. The hotel reservation site will close on October 30, 2024.

The group rate is $229/single/double.

Did you know that by staying at the headquarter hotel (the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor) you help keep conference costs down, which affects your registration fees year after year? The way it works is simple: ISEV agrees to a specific number of rooms per night in exchange for lower facility fees when negotiating the contract. If too many attendees choose to stay elsewhere and ISEV fails to meet the contracted obligations, ISEV will be responsible fees and penalties. Thank you for helping ISEV keep costs down.

We look forward to seeing you at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel!

What is ISEVxTech?

Last held in 2022, ISEVxTech has been one of ISEV's most popular meeting offerings, with high ratings by demonstrators and attendees alike. ISEVxTech centers on extensive, often hands-on demonstrations of technologies and methods, surrounded by fascinating talks, panel discussions, poster sessions, and interactive offerings.

ISEVxTECH is your one-stop shop to:

  • Learn about existing and emerging technology platforms and methods
  • Participate in mutual exchanges of technology platform developers and users
  • Find out how leaders in the field use EV technologies
  • Gain insights into where the EV field is going next
  • Network with like-minded colleagues and find future collaborators in a laid-back, comfortable setting
  • Share your research results and establish new directions

Who is ISEVxTech meant for?

Everyone! Whether you are marketing a new EV characterization platform or looking for solutions for your EV research, everyone uses technology and methods and can gain something from this meeting.

What's new at ISEVxTech?

Lots of novel technologies and methods...but also an EDUCATION TRACK. New to the field? Or want to brush up on the basics? You can earn an "EV101"* certificate by attending a certain number of sponsor seminars, interacting in informational sessions, and completing an assessment at or after the meeting.

*Why "EV101"? In the US, introductory college courses are often labeled with a "101" suffix. Please note that this certification is not offered by an institution of higher learning; it is an informal ISEV offering.

 Plenary Speakers

Stephen Boppart, M.D., Ph.D.
Director, Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute
Professor and Grainger Distinguished Chair in Engineering
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Talk Title:
Visualizing and characterizing extracellular vesicles in situ and in vivo at single-vesicle resolution using label-free multimodal nonlinear imaging

Dr. Stephen Boppart is a Professor and Grainger Distinguished Chair in Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with appointments in the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Bioengineering, and the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.  His Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory is focused on developing novel optical biomedical diagnostic and imaging technologies and translating these into clinical applications.  Dr. Boppart received his Ph.D. in Medical and Electrical Engineering from MIT, his M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and specialty training in Internal Medicine.  He has published over 450 invited and contributed publications, delivered over 1000 invited and contributed presentations, and has over 55 patents related to optical biomedical imaging technology.  He was recognized by MIT Technology Review magazine as one of the Top 100 young innovators who will create the future, and later received the international Hans Sigrist Prize in the field of Diagnostic Laser Medicine, the IEEE Technical Achievement Award, and the SPIE Biophotonics Technology Innovator Award, among others.  Dr. Boppart has co-founded five start-up companies to commercialize and disseminate his optical technologies and was recently elected a member of the National Academy of Inventors.  He is a Fellow of AAAS, IEEE, OSA, SPIE, AIMBE, BMES, and IAMBE.  Dr. Boppart has been a strong advocate for the integration of engineering, technology, and medicine to advance human health and our healthcare systems.  He played an active role in the visioning, launch, and growth of the first engineering-based Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and is currently serving as the Director for the University’s Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute.

Mei He, Ph.D.,
Associate Professor
Department of Pharmaceutics, College of Pharmacy
UF Health Cancer Center
University of Florida

Talk Title:
Molecular Engineering of Extracellular Vesicles for Precision Therapeutic Development

Dr. He research brings in novel microfluidic and nanotechnology for surface molecular engineering, cargo loading and transfection, gene editing and multi-omic sequencing, which presents a new way for advancing precision medicine. Dr. He is named as the National Academy of Inventors Senior Member, the Board advisor of Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Vice Chair of AAPS (American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists) scientific committee, and the Editorial Board Advisor for journal of Pharmaceutics, and Lab on Chip (RSC). Dr. He is also the Chair of NanoDDS 2024 (the 22nd International Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery Symposium), the Chair of SelectBio extracellular vesicles meetings 2022 in Long Beach, 2023 in Orlando, and 2024 in Miami. Dr. He’s journal review efforts have been recognized as the Outstanding Reviewer four times in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2023, from the Lab on chip journal (Royal Society of Chemistry). Dr. He received the NIH Maximizing Investigator’s Research Award for Early-Stage Investigators in 2019, and the LOC Emerging Investigator Award by the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2019. Notably, Dr. He research innovation leads to more than 20 pending and issued patents related to extracellular vesicles. Her invention was selected to The NIH TARGETED Challenge in 2023. Dr. He also has been highlighted as the UF innovator and been reported by abc WCJB20 Tech Tuesday news and UFHCC News.
